Jael
Jael is considered to be one of the foremost female artists of today. From beautiful fine/art book cover illustrations, to personal and unique commissions for collectors and the business sector, her lush use of color and gorgeous images combine with un-paralleled vision and whimsical perspective. Her originals and limited editions are in consistently high demand, and she receives frequent awards and recognition for her work.
Jael has participated in invitational and juried Gallery and Museum Exhibits throughout the country, and is a popular "Artist Guest Of Honor" at Schools, ) lecture/slide shows), business events, and Science Fiction/Fantasy Conventions. See Conventions for current information. Jael is, and has been featured in calendars, books, magazines, limited editions, and other publications.
Since moving to the New Jersey/New York East Coast in 1986, she has completed several hundred cover illustrations, private commissions, (domestic and abroad), as well as successfully pursuing her visionary Perceptualistic work, especially now, having moved down into beautiful St. Augustine, one of the oldest, most picturesque settings throughout the East Coast. Over a professional span of close to 50 years, Jael has created more than 38,000 paintings/images.
Jael received her BFA, Secondary Certification, from the University of Utah in 1973, taught for several years in Utah High Schools, then accepted an invitation to teach fine-art at Clarke College, Las Vegas, Nevada, 1974 thru 1980... still keeping busy with publishing and private commissions.
Her Art is featured in "The Encyclopedia Of Science Fiction And Fantasy Art Techniques", Quarto Publishing, 1996. She is included in Spectrum 3, Spectrum 4, and Spectrum 8, a semi-annual publication featuring the best in contemporary fantastic art. Jael is included in the Paper Tiger Fantasy Art Gallery, a book compiling interviews and images of 25 of the world's top fantasy artists, published summer of 2002. Her work is included in the prestigious Frank Collections, Volume 1 and 2, and is at this time, working with the Franks and other artists on a new book, to be released in 2007.
Jael is a frequent nominee covering several categories, for the Chesley Awards; the most prestigious award presented world-wide, for Fantasy and Science Fiction Art.
