Información de la Galería fotográfica Verve.
Born in Germany, Brigitte Carnochan came to the United States in 1947, where she fell in love with ballet and the idea of being a dancer. Instead of making a career of dance, however, she became a high school and later university teacher of English with a love of gardening. When her early interest in photography at last culminated in a decision to make photography her career, her interest in dance and gardens also coalesced in her primary subject matters: the formal beauty of bodies and flowers. Brigitte's painted gelatin silver images are in private and corporate collections in the US and abroad. Named a Hasselblad Master Photographer for 2003, her work has recently been featured in Camera Arts, Black and White, Studija, and Hasselblad Forum magazines. Brigitte's still life and nude images will also appear in the September 2004 issue of Polaroid's P27 Magazine and in the next volume of 21st: Journal of Contemporary Photography. A catalog, The Colors of the Imagination, accompanied three solo exhibitions in 1997.
