Información de la Galería fotográfica Verve.

Born in Germany, Brigitte Carnochan came to the United States in 1947, where she fell in love with ballet and the idea of being a dancer. Instead of making a career of dance, however, she became a high school and later university teacher of English with a love of gardening. When her early interest in photography at last culminated in a decision to make photography her career, her interest in dance and gardens also coalesced in her primary subject matters: the formal beauty of bodies and flowers. Brigitte's painted gelatin silver images are in private and corporate collections in the US and abroad. Named a Hasselblad Master Photographer for 2003, her work has recently been featured in Camera Arts, Black and White, Studija, and Hasselblad Forum magazines. Brigitte's still life and nude images will also appear in the September 2004 issue of Polaroid's P27 Magazine and in the next volume of 21st: Journal of Contemporary Photography. A catalog, The Colors of the Imagination, accompanied three solo exhibitions in 1997.

Tim Hall

Tim HallTim Hall

Tim Hall

Tim Hall, a British Fine Art Photographer based in London, specializes in portraits, landscapes and seascapes. His work is of the highest standard and is of museum quality. Tim‘s sensitive and often-spiritual depictions compels supporters and art enthusiasts to note, “As arresting as Tim Hall‘s photographs are to viewers today, it is safe to say that they will affect a future generation with even greater power”.
Tim Hall, a graduate of the University of Manchester, began his career as staff photographer for the London based, Redferns Music Picture Library. His images of jazz and rock musicians including the greats Miles Davis and Prince have appeared in magazines, books and newspapers throughout the world.
During the 1990s, Tim lived and worked in Southeast Asia where he photographed numerous books on countries in the region with a strong focus on Indochina. These publications include such bestsellers as Cambodia: A Portrait and Back to Mandalay. During his sojourn in the region, Tim photographed the indigenous people of the area and developed a style of photography in the tradition of Irving Penn. These romantic and often insightful portraits that capture the nostalgic mood of a bygone era can be seen in his Golden Faces and Hanoi People series.
In 1997, Tim shot a cross-section of Hong Kong society to mark the end of British rule. The Hong Kong People Collection was exhibited around the world to great acclaim.
In 2003, Tim journeyed to India, where he worked on an exhibition series entitled Pilgrimage. These pictures follow the life of the inhabitants of Varanasi, capturing remarkable scenes of worshippers in the river Ganges during the Lunar Festival and striking portraits of the dwellers of this ancient city.
Tim recently made a move into landscape photography whilst on a trip to Morocco. His Dune Collection captures the sensuality of the shifting sands at dawn in the Sahara desert
The Coast Collection, Tim Hall‘s latest project, depicts images of seascapes and beach scenes throughout England and is very close to the artist‘s heart. The series embodies his life‘s work thus far. The feel and mood portrayed within this work has reverberated with his supporters striking an emotional chord, describing them as both sensitive and powerful.
Tim Hall‘s work is sold in top galleries worldwide and is available as limited edition prints, each signed, numbered and dated. Institutions and art collectors worldwide have bought his work.

Naomi Harris

"Born May 26, 1973 weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces at the Mount Sinai Hospital inToronto, Canada to proud parents Jerry and Diane Harris, the youngest of three children.
It wasn’t until age 3 wher her older brother and sister went away to sleep over camp that she began to speak. She hasn’t stopped talking since.
At age 8 Naomi joined Greenpeace with dreams of being the Rainbow Warrior’s youngest crewmember. Her request to board ship went unanswered but she collected lunch money from schoolmates to help stop the seal hunts in Canada.
At age 14 she was bitten by a monkey at the Bowmanville Zoo. Fortunately she didn’t require rabies shots.
On her 24th birthday she received her acceptance letter from the international Center of Photography into the Documentary Photography program. She moved to New York in August of 1997.
Following the lead of so many of her ancestors, she decided to snowbird to Miami Beach in December of 1999. Here she documented the last hotel of South Beach that catered to senior citizens, and decided to sojourn in Florida for the next two and a half years.
Upon returning to New York in April 2002, she began working on her current project about Swinging in the Suburbs. She has been documenting this phenomenon all over the United States and Taschen Books is publishing her first book dedicated to this topic, hopefully in bookstores by Spring 2008.
When she can find the time to pretend to relax, Naomi likes to sing karaoke and knit."

Jinnine Pak

Fotógrafa norteamericana que vive y trabaja en Nueva York.

"In 2004, I worked on a portrait series of women. These women were strangers before photographing them for this series. They responded to my online posting calling for females of all types to participate. Each was photographed in their bedrooms in natural and/or ambient light. This project provided the opportunity to meet women of many different backgrounds and to capture a part of their lives. My camera was a passport to enter places I might never have otherwise. The process was an immersion into a woman's life and molding it to make it my own. They are depictions of how I want the women to look - with a sentimental mood and intimacy, both diffident and confident. Her disposition, space, objects, clothing, makeup, and colors were used to create a milieu of sexuality, wonder, hope, nostalgia, loneliness, independence, resignation, intent, anxiety, and peace. The women are sharing a secret: I want them to be cherished, and then let go."
