(Claude Oscar Monet, 1840-1926) Pintor francés, nacido en París y fallecido en Giverny (Eure), jefe del movimiento impresionista de rebeldía contra la tradición académica de los siglos XVII y XIX. Hijo de un corredor de buques, pasó su infancia en el puerto de El Havre. Empezó a interesarse por el arte a edad temprana y, cuando a los 15 años expuso unos esbozos en un almacén de El Havre, atrajo la atención del artista Eugène Boudin.

Éste se ofreció a enseñarle, y maestro y discípulo pintaron juntos en los muelles de El Havre. En 1856 expuso su primer cuadro en Ruán. Este éxito afirmó su resolución de dedicarse a la pintura a pesar de la oposición paterna. Después de servir durante dos años con un regimiento en Argelia, se trasladó a París para estudiar en la academia de Gleyre, donde conoció a Renoir, Sisley y Bazille, que habían de ser sus amigos y compañeros de impresionismo durante toda su vida.

Monet había estado investigando nuevas técnicas pictóricas, pero sólo cuando vio el famoso Déjeuner sur l'herbe de Manet se afilió a la escuela que más tarde había de conocerse con el nombre de impresionismo. Sus amigos, entre los que se contaban también Cézanne y Pissarro, quedaron igualmente impresionados ante los tonos claros y la técnica vital de Manet y constituyeron el núcleo de un grupo que luchó contra el tradicionalismo de los círculos artísticos parisinos. En 1865 el Salón aceptó dos cuadros de Monet, tradicionales en estilo.

En esta época empezó a pintar del natural y tomó cuerpo su fascinación por las cualidades efímeras de la luz y el aire. El primero de sus cuadros en que aflora la delicadeza que había de informar su obra posterior fue Mujeres en el jardín, rechazado por el Salón en 1867. Esta obra, expuesta en una galería privada, llamó la atención de Manet, que hizo por conocer al joven pintor. La amistad de estos dos grandes artistas había de durar toda su vida. El Café Guerbois fue el centro del grupo impresionista, donde se reunían y charlaban Monet, Manet, Renoir, Cézanne, Pissarro y otros.

Pieter Brueghel el Viejo (Breda, Países Bajos, h. 1525 - Bruselas, 1569) Pintor holandés. Principal pintor holandés del siglo XVI, en la actualidad es considerado una de las grandes figuras de la historia de la pintura. Realizó sobre todo cuadros de paisaje, de género y de escenas campesinas, en los que con un estilo inspirado en el Bosco reflejó la vida cotidiana con realismo, abundancia de detalles y un gran talento narrativo.

Pieter Brueghel aprendió el oficio con Pieter Coeke. En 1551 se incorporó al gremio de pintores de Amberes e inmediatamente después emprendió un viaje por Europa, que lo llevó a Francia, Italia y Suiza. Lo que más le impresionó de su periplo fueron los paisajes de los Alpes, de los que realizó a su vuelta una serie de dibujos que fueron grabados.

En 1563 Pieter Brueghel se trasladó a Bruselas y contrajo matrimonio. Se centró entonces en la pintura y produjo numerosas obras, muchas de ellas por encargo de famosos personajes. Para el banquero Niclaes Jonghelinck realizó, por ejemplo, la famosa serie de los Meses, que incluye Cazadores en la nieve (noviembre-diciembre) y La vuelta del ganado (septiembre-octubre), entre otras obras maestras.

En el folclore y los refranes populares buscó la inspiración para sus obras más descriptivas y pintorescas, desde La parábola de los ciegos y Juegos de niños hasta el El banquete de bodas. También realizó obras religiosas, en particular entre los años 1562 y 1567, que, aunque no constituyen lo mejor de su producción, dan pruebas de su gran originalidad estilística.

Pieter Brueghel tuvo dos hijos pintores, Pieter el Joven (Bruselas, 1564 - Amberes, 1638) y Jan (Bruselas, 1568 - Amberes, 1625). El segundo fue muy reputado como pintor de flores y se ganó el sobrenombre de Brueghel de «velours» (terciopelo) por su magistral tratamiento de las texturas delicadas. El primero realizó copias y variaciones de las pinturas de su padre, a menudo de gran calidad, con las que se ganó muy bien la vida.

Sas Christian was born in London on January 4th 1968. She lived with her grandmother for a few years in Birmingham, and then eventually moved back down south to live with her mother, father and baby brother, Ed. Within a few years a couple more siblings were added to the bunch - her sister Sophia and her littlest bro, Richard.

In 1989 Sas went to Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design UK, to study graphic design. After being in a private boarding school for the previous 5 years, and coming from a very closeted family this would prove to be a liberating experience. Unfortunately, just after Sas graduated she was robbed - her portfolio of work was stolen and having no copies of it she found herself having to start all over again. Her time at Bournemouth was not a total loss however, as this would be the place where she would meet her future (and present) husband Colin.

Sas and her husband Colin moved to Florida in 1992, the year of Hurricane Andrew. It proved to be quite an eye-opener. She worked for a printing company, in the bindery department for 2 years, and then left to form a company with her husband called "Hotbox, Inc." - where she and Colin designed and manufactured couture latex clothing and costumes. They then moved the business into commercial sculpture, producing statues and other decorative elements for nightclubs, restaurants etc. Sas's role was as a fiberglasser and finisher.

In 1999 Sas began painting, with her main influence at the time being anime. She started with acrylics, and then in 2003 moved to oils -- teaching herself as she went. When younger Sas went to a lot of museums and art galleries and was really impressed with the works of the "masters." She was never inspired by one person in particular, however now the artists she most admires would be Bouguereau, Tamara De Lempicka, Mark Ryden... Sas draws inspiration from everyday occurences, movies and music.

After school he had work experiences as make-up artist, decorator and photographer before he decided to start a vocational education as advertising merchant in a advertising agency. Later on he worked as a sales promotion manager, graphic designer, chief of an agency and creative director.

In 2001 Zyks starts a second career as erotic art photographer. His work is a combination o portraiture, hidden desires and mystic. He is interested in discovering human longings. His bizarre and provocative work found rapidly friends in the BDSM subculture.

Camille Clovis Trouille (né le 24 octobre 1889 à La Fère (Aisne, décédé le 24 septembre 1975 à Paris) est un peintre français.
Né dans l'Aisne en 1889, il entre à l'école des Beaux-Arts d'Amiens (1905 - 1910), et devient peintre illustrateur.
Sa peinture magnifiquement libre, exaltant la couleur et l'érotisme, et pourfendant le sabre et le goupillon, proche des surréalistes le fait remarquer en 1930 par André Breton. Il s'est ensuite éloigné de ce courant en revendiquant ses influences de la Renaissance.
Il est peu connu car il ne recherchait pas la gloire. Il peignait pendant ses loisirs des toiles où les thèmes de l'anticléricalisme et de l'antimilitarisme reviennent fréquemment. Il avait été traumatisé par la Première Guerre mondiale. Il se définissait comme anarchiste. Son œuvre a emprunté à la culture de masse et au kitch.
Plusieurs de ses œuvres sont visibles au musée de Picardie d'Amiens.

Manu Coloma nació en Murcia donde se licenció en Publiciad y Relaciones Públicas, especialidad en medios impresos y audiovisuales en la UCAM (2002).

Un año después, realiza el proyecto fotografico en stART -art colony- en la ciudad croata de Split. Después se desplazaría a Praga, donde realizó, gracias a una beca de la Unión Europea, un proyecto fotográfico para la Casa de la Cultura de Praga.

Su trabajo destaca por la originalidad de sus enfoques, y porque tiene el talento para saber como explicar toda una historia con una simple imagen.

Some critisize violence, and others are appaled by the young age of the models. To which Lisa replies:Life is a violent and beautiful thing, you die from it. My art is nothing but a portrayal of everyday life. Every person has to do things they don't like. There is very little actual freedom in our existence, due to social and economical restraints. Your soul, which is a young child forever, is exposed to suffering and anguish, whether you accept it or not. My art explores the depth of horror, dreams of nonchalance, and aims to bring a catharsis.

Originally from Denmark, Torkil Gudnason approaches photography with a no-nonsense, Scandinavian sensibility. His style is simple and graphic. He prefers shooting in color in order to play various hues off one another. When asked to list three things he can’t live without as a photographer, his answer is appropriately succinct: light, light, and light.

As a 10-year-old boy, Torkil received his first camera, a Bolex Super-8. His first pictures were of a trip to Italy, which is where, many years later, Torkil would find his first success as an emerging fashion photographer.

Torkil’s photography has appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Surface, City and Stiletto Magazine.
