Malanda

Malanda

Información del MOCA (Museum of Computer Art)

"Karl-Ludwig Leiter goes by the sobriquet Malanda. His work is eclectic, covering a broad range. He is represented here by 15 images. He writes, "Even before I became a Hippie in the early 70's in southwest Germany I wanted to become an artist - since I always loved to paint and draw. Simultaneously with my love for art, my dislike for the 'art market' did grow - styles popular by then I did not want to paint - and styles I painted nobody wanted to see. Nevertheless I kept painting and earned the little money I needed by working as a lumberjack, a gravedigger, or in governmental Kulture archives. I studied with my artist friends, in art galleries worldwide, in nature, with sex drugs and Rock 'n Roll.

"Out of the blue I had not the slidest longing for trying to be somebody special anymore - therefore I completely stopped doing traditional artworks for almost 20 years. By then I enjoyed having a decent livelihood as a freelance graphics and product designer, leading a small but fine studio and enjoying even more my still not-being-dependent-and-influenced by the 'ins-and-outs' of the art-market.

"Approximately three years ago I started to paint again! I use an Apple computer, a graphics tablet, Photoshop and Painter. Most of my art is extremely detailed - I have been and still are interested in brilliance and luminosity - in the archetypical patterns, in surfaces of nature, in the shine behind the obvious perceptions - following some principles of the Viennese School of Phantastic Realism and some of the early Symbolistic artists (Dellville, Moreau, Gaudi, etc.). Aldous Huxley, Choegyam Trungpa and Friedrich Nietzsche influenced me deeply as well as Donald Duck and the Marx Brothers.

"I paint because I enjoy doing it. Some paintings have a message - others not. Which one - the open minded watcher may find out in any way it pleases him or her. I have many different subjects and styles - and try neither to accept nor to reject anything."

Larry Hoth

Larry Hoth

Larry Hoth is a self-taught photographer from Euless, Texas. He has been shooting the female nude for several years now and has also created a lovely and artistic body of erotic imagery. He is adept at shooting both indoors as well as outdoors and has worked with a beautiful series of models.

Larry shoots his nudes in an unusual way, in that he has his model treat the session as if she were moving in slow motion, much the way you have to photograph a sailboat as it moves across the water. This also results in some unusual lighting effects as he meters the light once within the area and continues to shoot as the model moves inside that space. This probably would not work with other photographers but it is Larry's trademark.

Bob Carlos Clarke

Bob Carlos Clarke

Información de Picasso Mio

Bob Carlos Clarke (County Cork, Irlanda, 1950 - Londres, Marzo 2006)

The Observer, Londres, 7 Mayo 2006.

Amadeo Modigliani

Modigliani
Amadeo Modigliani

Información de Biografías y Vidas.

Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920).

Carlo Dolci

Carlo Dolci

Información de la Wikipedia.

Carlo (or Carlino) Dolci (25 May 1616 - 17 January 1686) was an Italian Baroque painter. He was born and died in Florence, the grandson of a painter on his mother's side. While he was precocious and apprenticed at a young age with Jacopo Vignali, Dolci was not prolific. It is said that in 1682, when he saw Luca Giordano, known as the fa presto painter, paint more in five hours than he could have completed in months, he fell into depression."He would take weeks over a single foot", according to biographer Filippo Baldinucci. This dilatory technique made him unsuited for large-scale fresco painting. He used pencil chiefly for sacred subjects, and generally painted in a small size, although he made a few life-size pictures. His daughter, Agnese Dolci, who showed excellence in copying the works of her father.

Dolci works are easily distinguishable by the delicacy of the composition. Pilkington declared: "His pencil was tender, his touch inexpressibly neat, and his colouring transparent; though he has often been censured for the excessive labour bestowed on his pictures, and for giving his carnations more of the appearance of ivory than the look of flesh" (citation needed), a flaw that had been already apparent in Agnolo Bronzino.

The grand manner, vigorous coloration or luminosity, and dynamic emotion of the Bolognese-Roman Baroque are foreign to Dolci and Florence. Perhaps the last in a the long tradition of prestigious Florentine painting, Dolci appears constitutionally blind to the new aesthetic, constrained by the Florentine tradition, that holds each drawn figure under a microscope of academicism. Wittkower describes him as the Florentine counterpart, in terms of devotional imaging, of the Roman Sassoferrato.

Dolci was notoriously pious; it is said that during Passion week every year, he painted a half-figure of the Saviour. His masterpieces are about sacred themes, where the protagonist is often highly emotive, nearly mawkish. There is a want of character in his pictures, and his grouping lacks harmony, but the general tone accords with the idea of the passion portrayed.

Among the best works of this master are the St Sebastian; the Four Evangelists at Florence; Christ Breaking the Bread in Burleigh; the St Cecilia in Dresden; an Adoration of the Magi; and a masterpiece is his St Andrew praying before his Crucifixion in the Pitti gallery, painted in 1646. He completed his portrait of Fra Ainolfo de' Bardi, when he was 16 years old.

One of his works, Madonna of the Veil, was stolen in 1976 and has never been recovered.

Williams Richard

Williams Richard

Richard is an internationally known Fine Art photographer with clients from Seattle to Hong Kong (the long way round!). Born in Wales in 1960, Richard is the third generation of professional photographers. After following a conventional photography career, in 1990 he started Diva Photography to counter the commercialisation of the female nude image - and as a break from the relentless boredom of commercial photography. "For me the nude is more than just a series of curves, the nude has to be seen in a setting that sets a context for the image. This can range from an erotic image in a bedroom to a natural image in a wood, or an abstract studio shot".

Richard's work is published internationally in print and on the web. You can see his recent images in "Cosmopolitan", "Marie Claire", "Elle", "Photo" (France) and "Elegance" (US) - but he rarely uses his real name - there are simply too many people called Richard Williams in the visual arts. He is retained by Kestrel and Charter P agencies and has been a chosen photographer for "The Ooh" (May 2006) and "My Erotic Eye" (August 2006). Image gallery in the "Nerve" (September 2006). He is a contributor to "Erotique" and "Erotique 2" and to most of the major art nude web sites (Femjoy, Eros-Zine. Michelle 7, ibodi.......) Too many book covers/album covers to mention.
His book of fine art nudes "Diva" was published in 1992. In 2006 he started work on his second book of fine art prints (but it is taking a very long time) and making a series of short black & white erotic movies.
Richard now divides his time between interesting commercial projects and individual commissions.

Gian Paolo Barbieri

Gian Paolo Barbieri

Información de Rancho las Voces (Revista de Arte y Cultura)

Gian Paolo Barbieri was born in Milan in 1938. In 1965, he began his collaboration with “Vogue Italia” and with many fashion designers. By 1978, “Stern” was ranking him as one of the 14 best fashion photographers in the world and in 1982, he published his first book, “Artificial”. During his travels for “Vogue”, he came into contact with other cultures that fascinated him: in Tahiti he discovered the topics of his imagination, transmitted to him by Gauguin’s paintings and also the written accounts found in Melville and Cook. Besides this mythical “lost” world, Barbieri also discovered people both open and innocent who shared with him the mysterious ritual of tattooing. After visiting archaic Madagascar and Tahiti, Barbieri finally discovered the Garden of Eden in the Seychelles, sensually photographed in the book “Equator”. The only absolute ruler here is the sun, casting patterns on naked skin through the palm fronds, or perhaps the Trade Winds that stir the almond trees. Barbieri now lives and works in Milan.
