Trevor's photography is generally influenced by two dimensional composition, leading him to shoot a great deal of urban architecture, detail, and an array of other typographical elements. He brings these images to life through what he refers to as, the creation of graphical composition from an existing scene. Brady frames intrigue through the photography of common objects, stacked crates in a dirty alley, or a chain-link fence decorated with old coffee cups, making them compelling, even beautiful, in the process. This desire to transform subjects also extends past the inanimate world, to the rundown neighbourhoods of Vancouver's Eastside where both the people and the streets possess an intensity rivaled only by their willingness to express it. It is here, among the scratched windows and littered gutters, that Brady's subjects truly come to embody the spirit of the artist.

Photography to me has become a life style that has brought me a great deal of personal satisfaction and contentment. My pictures have been instrumental in my growth as a human being. From photographing the famous, to a 78 year-old woman from Hong Kong who recited poetry to me during a recent session. I fondly remember Mick Fleetwood telling me stories of seeing Jimi Hendrix at a small club called " The Bag of Nails" in the early 60’s. My passion for the dramatic potential of movie lights (George Hurrell is my hero), to the spontaneity of working with studio strobe that captures the excitement of the moment. From network gallery sessions to album covers to intimate portraits, I have spent the last 15-years in the studio getting to know people visually. I have become a photographer of humans.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Michael Dweck was given his first Kodak camera by his parents at the age of seven. Having studied fine arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, Dweck began his career in advertising. He went on to become a highly regarded Creative Director who received over 40 international awards, including the coveted Gold Lion at the Cannes International Festival. Two of his long-form television pieces are part of the permanent film collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Drawing inspiration from his teenage years spent by the beach on Long Island, Dweck set out to photographically capture the vanishing surf culture of Montauk, a sleepy fishing village that in the 1970s became a haven for East Coast surfers.
Michael Dweck’s internationally acclaimed first book, titled The End:Montauk, N.Y. (Harry N. Abrams, 2004), is the photographic chronicle and nostalgic tribute to that hedonistic surf community. “The ultimate homage to the sun-kissed surfing life. Sensuous, seductive and unbearably sexy in its effect,” in the words of The New York Times. His second book is due out in December 2007.
Dweck’s timeless images have appeared in Vanity Fair, French Vogue, Esquire, Oyster, Black & White, and many other publications. In addition, his photographs were showcased in a solo exhibition at Sotheby’s in New York, and internationally at Paris Photo, France and Aoyama Tokyo, Japan. Michael Dweck lives in New York City.
